Description:

The EK-FC9800GX2 full cover waterblock is one of the latest installments in all the watercooling goodness that has been pouring out of EK Waterblocks.  Fine, machined channels add surface area and direct water through the hottest part of the card for more efficient cooling and the full cover design cools every heat generating component on the video card (including the GPU, RAM, Voltage Regulators, etc.)  Unlike similar blocks, the EK-FC9800GX2 is an all-in-one solution for the 9800GX2 cards.  It's SLI Ready and two plugs and 2 G1/4 barbs are included... though, considering that the block only has two threaded ports, we're not really sure why they bothered including plugs.  Sealing the block for storage once the 9800GX2 cards are phased out, perhaps?

Anyway, based on the internal design of the block, the PCBs of the 9800GX2 are being cooled in parallel rather than in series, like the last GX2 block from EK.  This, in turn, should result in the waterblock having a lower pressure drop and, thus, less of a negative performance impact on the rest of your cooling system than other 9800GX2 waterblocks.
