Description:

The motherboard chipset can usually be cooled passively under normal conditions.  However, in overclocked systems, the stock cooler on the chipset may not be enough to handle the rise in temperature from the extra heat.  Furthermore, in extreme overclocking situations that require watercooling, extra chipset cooling is even more evident; especially since these setups provide little if any airflow inside a case.
