Description:
It seems that with each top-notch release, Danger Den keeps
redefining waterblock design. The Danger Den TDX packs incredible
performance in such a small package. At only 140 grams and 1.8" x 2.2",
the TDX is smaller than most CPU waterblocks and lighter than many GPU blocks!
Don't let the dimensions fool you, the TDX is one of the highest performing
blocks currently on the market with performance characteristics the similar to its
3-barb brother, the Danger Den RBX.
The defining characteristic that makes the TDX perfom so
well is the design and implementation of the offset wave channels that are
machined directly into the base. The channels are centered directly
above the CPU core with "heat voids" that assist in water inpingement. The heat void's base measures
only a measly .5 mm of copper between the CPU top to
water for optimal heat absorption. Danger Den's accelerator nozzle directs
the incoming flow of water into the heat voids resulting in turbulence from the
pressure and flow of water in such a small chamber. Although turbulence is
usually associated with negative connotation, designers specifically created the
TDX to stimulate turbulence in order maximize the absorption process of heat
within the heat voids and wave channels. The result from this innovative design is one of
highest performing waterblocks on the market; this cooler will more than do the job now and into the futre.
