What's this lil piece of rubber gonna do for my case you ask?  Well, most people forget that fans do not only generate airflow and noise, they also create vibration which in turn can cause more unwanted noise.  Placing this sound vibration dampener between the case and fan will absorb and eliminate most vibration noise from the fan.  For anyone trying to build a super silent system, we always recommend adding vibration dampeners to your case and fans.
